Liverpool fans spot what Federico Chiesa did during celebration against Bournemouth and it's a major hint about his future

Federico Chiesa came off the bench to score his first goal in the Premier League as Liverpool beat Bournemouth 4-2.

Liverpool fans picked up on the hint Federico Chiesa dropped about his future after scoring his first Premier League goal against Bournemouth.

Chiesa looked surplus to requirements after making just six Premier League appearances as Liverpool won a 20th title in Arne Slot's first season.

But he was named as a substitute in the opening game of the season against Bournemouth at Anfield and replaced Florian Wirtz after Antoine Semenyo's brace brought the clash level following strikes from Hugo Ekitike and Cody Gakpo.

And the Italian had a huge impact, producing a stunning volley to put Liverpool 3-2 up and sending Anfield into pandemonium.

The former Juventus man wheeled away in celebration while mobbed by teammates and performed a knee-slide after bagging in front of the Kop.

But before he did, the Italy international pointed at the Liverpool badge in what would appear to be a clear indication that Chiesa will not be going anywhere.

Reacting on X, one fan said: "Knee slide, tapped the badge. Oh federico chiesa… you are very special and dear to me and you will not leave us."

Another observed: "Chiesa scores and sends a message with that badge point, he’s not here to play around.

A third wrote: "Chiesa grabs the badge and points to it. Love this. Keep the guy and play bin!"

A final user stated: "First ever Premier League goal and he’s already kissing the badge, pointing to it like he’s been Liverpool forever."

Liverpool perform Federico Chiesa u-turn

Slot's first Liverpool signing, Chiesa was linked with an early return to Italy with Napoli and Inter Milan and it was reported that he was looking to leave.

However, La Gazzetta dello Sport provided an update and claimed Liverpool had changed their mind on Chiesa, with Slot explaining the club's stance in a meeting with him.

Liverpool have added Ekitike to the ranks for further £79 million but it's believed that Liverpool feel as though they need Chiesa after selling Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez and losing the late Diogo Jota in a tragic car accident with his brother Andre Silva.

Next up for Liverpool is a trip to Newcastle, who rejected a Reds bid from unsettled striker Alexander Isak in what has been the saga of the summer.
